Healthy Smiles
for Tots & Teens

Community Smiles Dental serves as a dental home to more than 4,000 children annually, providing emergency, preventive, and restorative dental services for youth across southeastern Wisconsin. Approximately one quarter of pediatric patients each year are new patients entering the dental care system.

Services include comprehensive exams, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, fillings, and extractions. Oral health education is incorporated into every appointment, and parents are invited into the exam room to review home care instructions and preventive strategies. All children receive toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss at each visit to support healthy habits at home.

Healthy Smiles
for Moms & Babies

This program improves maternal oral health and supports healthy birth outcomes by providing preventive dental care to pregnant women. CSD partners with local WIC programs and medical providers to identify pregnant women who may not otherwise receive dental care.

Expectant mothers receive exams, cleanings, and oral health education during pregnancy. After delivery, mothers are encouraged to bring their infants back to CSD before the child’s first birthday to establish early preventive dental care.

Special Smiles

CSD’s Special Smiles program provides inclusive, compassionate care to youth and adults with special health care needs. Patients with physical, developmental, or cognitive disabilities often face barriers accessing dental care in traditional private practice settings.

CSD clinics include treatment spaces designed to accommodate patients with sensory sensitivities and mobility needs, ensuring patients receive high-quality dental care in a supportive and accessible environment.
